Flying Cloud Reconstruction Spring 2018

Hennepin County Press Release: Work is one step closer to beginning on the reconstruction of Flying Cloud Drive (County Road 61) in Eden Prairie and Chanhassen. Hennepin County is currently reviewing construction bids. Once a bidder is selected and approved, the county and firm will work to define the plans and timelines for work.

NEWS UPDATE 12-24-16- Federal Transit Administration propels Southwest LRT Project forward with approval to enter engineering phase. Authorization illustrates federal confidence in project ahead of approval of federal funding. What this means is the project's staff can finalize designs in preparation for construction in 2017. The $121M needed from the state to go ahead with the project has been held up. Republican Kurt Daudt said in 2015  "Republicans won't pony up for that purpose."

SWLRT: $19M Cost Delay

Inaction of the State Leads to $19 Million in Cost Delays for SWLRT. Despite strong support from the business community and local elected officials, the Metropolitan Council announced Monday that the Southwest Light Rail Transit (SWLRT) project has incurred $19 million in cost delays, due to inaction by House leadership to provide the remaining state share of funding. Those costs will continue to increase each week the final local funding is not secured.
